Where the Money Goes
Shared & Dedicated Hosting: Most of the cost is paid to datacenters and licensing services like cPanel®/WHM. We also invest in tools like CloudLinux, Imunify360, JetBackup, Softaculous, and SitePad.
VPS / VMs: Major expenses go to datacenters and IP leasing. We also use Virtualizor as the virtualization and control panel system.
Domain Names: We pay most of the cost to domain registries and ICANN fees, keeping only a small margin.
Miscellaneous: Other tools we pay for include WHMCS, Zendesk, and multiple backend apps that improve user experience and support capabilities.
Our Profit & Vision
The minimal profits we make are directly reinvested into scaling and upgrading HostingUp. None of our core team members take a salary currently — only interns and support engineers are paid for their time.
